Global Career Launch (GCL) is an opportunity for international students and young professionals to build their skills and enhance their formal education through collaboration with career-related visits to U.S. companies and seminars led by industry experts.
AIPT locates host sites that are well-equipped with the technology and human resources necessary to provide a great learning opportunity. Programs are customized to fit what participants are most interested in learning while in the United States. This could be a series of visits to successful start-up companies, small businesses, and large corporations for 10 days to find out what makes these locations successful, or, it may consist of a month-long internship to help participants gain valuable hands-on experience. All programs will offer professional development seminars that are facilitated by industry or professional experts.
Why be a Host Company?
American businesses are encouraged to welcome participants to their worksites for a short introduction to their business, operations, and strategies for success. Those companies or organizations that choose to take part in GCL will be able to discuss their businesses with future leaders in the international community and can gain knowledge from their valuable insight, as well as their culture and business practices. As a host site, you would be expected to do one or more of the following:
- Provide a hands-on understanding of U.S. business systems or technology
- Introduce participants to U.S. applied techniques, perspectives, or contemporary issues
- Help create a better understanding of U.S markets and operations
If your company or organization is interested in offering its worksite for either a brief visit or a month-long internship, please fill out the GCL U.S. Host Company Application form. The industry represented by your business is not as important as the information and experience that can be learned by visiting your site. The customized program will start no earlier than two months after the initial contact.
