RanRan

Ran, although focused in the area of Food and Nutrition, is hopeful to explore all of the opportunities the American Food and Hospitality Industry has to offer. She is confident that with the experiences brought forth through the WEST program that she will not only improve her English skills but that she can also broaden her career opportunities as well.  Ran comes highly recommended by her Food & Nutrition professor, who noted Ran as being diligent and creative.  Her professor also stated that she has the potential to be a bright, future leader. 

 

JaewonJaewon

Jaewon has been awarded several academic scholarships prior to, and during, her university studies.  She comes highly recommended by her Chemical Engineering professor.  Her professor noted her superb academics and interpersonal skills.  She believes that an internship in the United States will not only enhance her abilities as a chemical engineer but also broaden her intercultural awareness.  She believes her participation in the Korea WEST program will help her to reach her full potential.

 

Kyung YeanKyung Yean

Kyung Yean is currently a double major in Food & Nutrition and Business Administration at one of the top women’s universities in Korea. She is not only a stellar student but has also taken on many leadership positions in her extracurricular activities.   She is hopeful that with a successful completion of the WEST program she will obtain the skills to be successful in the food industry. She is aware that an understanding of the American Food and Hospitality Industry will not only increase her opportunity for future success but will also give her the “hands on” experience that future employers seek. She is ready to contribute her many talents!

 

Mie SungMie Sung

Mie Sung is currently enrolled at Soongsil University where she majors in Industrial and Information Systems and Engineering. With her knowledge of computer programming it is likely that she will be successful in not only learning new software programs but also in assisting with IT functions within any organization.  Mie Sung is also passionate about pursuing a career in the field of marketing, specifically in the area of sports.  She is hopeful that the WEST program will bring her the experience necessary to compete in this highly competitive industry.  Following the completion of the internship, she plans on returning to Korea to complete her undergraduate degree.  Mie Sung is confident that the WEST experience will help her find a position within the global marketing arena.

 

Jihae

Jihae is currently enrolled at Kyunghee University with a double major in Biology and Culinary Science.  She is excited by the opportunity to challenge herself both professionally and creatively within the world of culinary arts. She hopes that with the help of the WEST program she will be able to expand her knowledge of both American culture and cuisine.  Jihae believes that an internship within the food industry will assist her in her goal of owning a leading Korean Bakery.

 

Wongu

Wongu is excited to obtain an internship in the United States.  Wongu has received extensive coursework in electrical engineering.  He also comes highly recommended by a Gyeongsang National University professor. His professor describes Wongu as diligent and active and would place Wongu at the top 10% of his 80 student class.  Wongu’s professor also noted Wongu’s ability to form friendships with people of other cultures.  Wongu is confident that the WEST program will help him to reach his full potential as an engineer and a global citizen.

 

HuynshickHyunshick

As a recent graduate of Chonbuk National University, Hyunshick is extremely excited and motivated to contribute his skills to an American organization.  He is seeking a challenging position that will allow him to apply his existing skills as well as acquire new ones.  Hyunshick believes that his experience as a WEST participant will not only improve his English skills but his practical abilities as an engineer.  His Education professor noted Hyunshick’s willingness to take on new and challenging tasks.
