From Spring 2006
Menlo Innovations LLC participates in the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) internship program.
For the third consecutive year, Menlo Innovations has expanded their roster by hiring interns through the IAESTE United States program. These foreign students bring in new ideas and practices to an already innovative workspace. Menlo, a software design company in Ann Arbor, benefits greatly from this testament of globalization. “Working with IAESTE has a tremendous effect on both Menlo and IAESTE participants,” President Rich Sheridan explains, “The sharing of ideas between our employees and our international interns is incredible. They have a profound influence on our company and we are able to spread our unique ideas throughout the world.” IAESTE’s stated mission is to operate a high quality practical training exchange program between members in order to enhance technical and professional development and to promote international understanding and goodwill amongst students, academic institutions, employers and the wider community. In 1948, the organization was formed to foster good relations between the rebuilding European countries. Since then it has grown to include more than 80 countries and has exchanged over 300,000 students world wide.
In 2005, Menlo hosted two interns, and has chosen to upgrade to four this year. The company will welcome Sen Ye (China), Aroldo daSilva (Brazil), Divinia Fornge (Germany), and Anton Khlyapov (Ukraine). They will enter Menlo’s world with personality and ideas from a wide scope of cultures and fully participate in Menlo’s current projects.
