An AIPT intern will have the opportunity to train with a U.S. company and enhance his or her marketing skills and techniques. Students will gain insight into the role of marketing in U.S. companies and may participate in a variety of projects during which they could conduct market research, develop ideas and strategies, and analyze their findings.
A marketing internship may include:
- Brand marketing
- Product development
- Pricing strategies
- Design of marketing channels
Human Resources
An AIPT intern in human resources will have the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of an American company’s organizational and behavioral structure. This type of internship will help interns learn how to become effective managers in the workplace and also show them the importance of human resources in a global environment.
A human resources internship may include:
- Performance management
- Benefit analysis
- Developing company culture
- Strategic workforce planning
Shipping/Freight Forwarding:
An AIPT intern in the shipping/freight forwarding industry will learn firsthand about U.S. shipping and distribution laws at an international shipping company. Students can learn the logistics and documentation requirements for import/export.
A shipping/freight forwarding internship may include:
- Understanding of U.S. regulatory government agencies
- Safety requirements for international transportation
- Contract negotiation techniques
- International customer relations
