The following are examples of some of the types of internships available in this category. Your internship may vary:
Hotels and Resorts:
An AIPT intern will have the opportunity to participate in a hospitality program with a premiere U.S. hotel or resort. Interns will have the chance to develop their customer service and interpersonal skills by working directly with guests in real-life situations. They will also have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of managers and staff members.
A hospitality internship may include:
- Front desk operations
- Rooms
- Restaurant service
- Banquets and special events
Culinary:
An AIPT intern will have the opportunity to participate in a culinary program in a restaurant or a hotel. Interns will learn first-hand about the production of various types of food and the creation of recipes. They will also be trained to read production charts and banquet orders.
A culinary internship may include:
- Cooking techniques
- Recipe/menu development
- Inventory control
- Event catering
